I had the opportunity to participate in the DHS S&T Cyber Security Division Principal Investigators' Meeting in Washington D.C., September 16th thru 18th. The meeting had over 200 attendees, including researchers working in a wide range of research topics: Digital Provenance, Software Assurance, Security Metrics, Identity Management, Insider Threat, Cyber Forensics, Usable Security, and Network Mapping & Measurement. While the program did not include a DETER Project presentation, we took advantage of the gathering to arrange for a series of 1:1 meetings with researchers planning to use the DeterLab facility as part of their research in the coming months. This was very productive and gave us the opportunity to provide direct guidance on how best to use the DeterLab facility to advance their research.
These meetings are always rewarding, as I get to network with colleagues and government organizations.
