Sharing in DeterLab

The sharing capability is now available by signing into your DeterLab account, My DeterLab. The sharing tab allows any user to share materials that they think would be helpful to the user community.

Any user can find shared materials by entering in search terms in the search field. Additionally, you can customize the search by applying certain filters such as tool, for example.

You can share such things as teaching materials (lectures, homework, teacher manuals, class capture-the-flag exercises) and research materials (experiments, tools, datasets, and how-tos). Any material can be shared by uploading a ZIP file or by specifying a URL.

The requirement for sharing a material is that it is uniquely identified by its title and type, including the username of the user who shared it. Multiple users can share versions of a material with the same title and type or a single user can share multiple materials with the same title but different types.

Once you find materials you are interested in, you can either download them as a ZIP file or if you teach a class you can adopt them directly into your class.

If you want to modify a material you have shared previously, simply re-share it using the same title and type. This will overwrite the previously shared content.

Detailed information on sharing can be found on the help on sharing link, on the sharing tab, within My DeterLab or by going to DeterLab Support and typing in “Sharing and Using Shared Materials” in its search field.
